FREQUENCY HELP

Fast answers. No mystery.

Most Frequency playback happens entirely on your device. These checks solve the common issues without touching your saved journeys or Nerddi ID data.

Open test session →
I pressed Play but hear nothing.+

Make sure the browser tab is not muted, your device output is set to the correct headphones, and media volume is above zero. Mobile browsers require a user tap before starting Web Audio, so use the on-screen Play control rather than expecting automatic playback.

Why are headphones recommended?+

Binaural playback sends a different carrier to each ear. Stereo headphones preserve that separation. Use Audio Ready in the header to test the left and right channels.

My session stops when the phone locks.+

Background-audio behavior varies by browser and operating system. Install the Frequency PWA when available, keep the screen awake in My Frequency preferences, and disable aggressive battery restrictions for the browser or installed app if your device allows it.

Do I need a Nerddi ID?+

No. Curated sessions, local Studio programs, local favorites, and generated audio work without signing in. Nerddi ID adds cross-device synchronization for supported product data.

Will signing in erase my local journeys?+

No. Frequency is designed to merge existing local favorites and Studio journeys into your account rather than replacing them when you first connect Nerddi ID.

Can I use speakers instead?+

You can hear the carrier tones through speakers, but classic binaural separation depends on each ear receiving a different channel. Speakers mix acoustically in the room, so the experience is not equivalent.

What works offline?+

Cached static parts of the installed app can open offline, and the offline screen includes a basic locally generated 200/208 Hz stereo signal. Nerddi ID sign-in, account sync, and server-backed history require a network connection.

Is Frequency medical treatment?+

No. Frequency is an audio/wellness product. It does not diagnose or treat medical conditions and should not replace professional medical care.
